The $1 progressive could very well be gaffed. I've always suspected
that about the high variance games on the $1 progressive but after
getting shellacked in JOB I'm a lot closer to believing the gaffing to
be a certainty. At home practicing on Frugal I play JOB at about
99.95% accuracy with some very minor errors and some mouse errors I
don't make in the casino. I've been a net winner at JOB on the few
occasions I played it on the 2nd floor and when playing on the $.25
progressive (even when excluding jackpots). On my last visit I lost
$600 playing JOB on the $1 progressive and won $200 on the $.25
progressive. Same game, same player. Why the large disparity? Playing
JOB on the 2 progressives is a difference like night vs. day. On the
$1 progressive JOB is just a steady downward spiral whereas on the
$.25 progressive winning hands appear at a normal frequency, i.e. one
comparable to what you would see on Frugal. I strongly encourage all
proficient JOB players to ascertain this firsthand, alternate JOB play
between the 2 progressives and you too will notice the difference
which is quite striking.
Also, while I was playing $1 progressive JOB most of the day I watched
2 other competent players on the $1 progressive. From their grumbling
I inferred they were having typical $1 progressive results. So once
again while I'm getting crushed at the $1 progressive others are
faring no better. One last tidbit, in my $1 OEJ days I hit some
Royals, they were all on machines which are now part of the $.25
progressive! Believe it or don't!

These numbers are lower than those posted by Howard for 3pm
(5010,1616). Somebody seems to have made a boo-boo in reporting as I
doubt both jackpots were hit between 3 and 7 and then rose to these
levels. Howard, did you mean 8pm rather than 3pm? That would make
sense given these numbers.--- In vpFREE_Chicago@yahoogroups.com, "correna2" <correna2@y...> wrote:
