MS Prog Report

I do not yet know the full rules. You are surely more skillful than the average player. Also, If the tournament is every half hour from 10:30 to 3:30 on the Multi-Strike machines, it will have less than 200 players thus positive equity.

The info is on one of the glossies that came with the February
coupons. It appears to be open to all with an entry fee of $25. Paying
money to play in these things doesn't make a lot of sense to me as
you're essentially betting on yourself to hit a royal over an
insignificant number of hands. OTOH, it's only $25 so maybe I should
ask MS to comp my EF!

I have had a terrible start to this year and am down almost $1500 for
January (Was +$4000 for 2004.)

That bartop gets plenty of action on the quarter side and the meter
moves fast. I didn't even know multi-strike had a tournament mode.
Was this an invitational tournament?

I think you missed one of my other posts. My suspicion is that this
isn't a true Multi-Strike tournament, but rather a standard JOB
tournament that just happens to make use of the Multi-Strike machines
in single line mode for the duration of the tournament.

If it really is a Multi-Strike tournament I would agree with you as
I'm undoubtedly better than the average player, having devoted a lot
of time to analysis. In fact if it really is a true Multi-Strike
tournament it would be worth it to ante up the $25 EF.

As a standard JOB single line tournament however, winning is hugely
anti-percentage. With a relatively small number of hands per player it
boils down to the "infinite number of monkeys" theorem. Until these
events are run like Bridge tournaments where everyone plays the same
cards they will continue to be negative propositions.
Unless one is the lone entrant in the event.
