Hi Larry,
I overheard a couple of women talking with a slot attendant about that when I was out there last week, and the SA said that a bunch of VP machines were going to be moved, but she didn’t know where, just that it was going to be ‘soon’. I was more concerned about playing through my FSP, and picking up my smoothie blender, so I wasn’t paying all that much attention to the conversation.
It’s bad enough what they did to VP out there, but at least if you wanted to play, there was a good concentration of machines in the old poker room.
Still no FW RF, but I did hit a nice quad Deuces and quite a few BPDlx quads for a plus trip for a change.

Hi Guru,
Yes they did move some machines around in the old Poker Room.
The short pay quarter TP progressives were moved to outside the Hall Of the Lost Tribes where IMHO they will get a lot of play.
Perhaps the PEm were merely being moved not MIA in as much as there wasn’t any report of the other dollar PEms being MIA.
With no comp being given( only status pts.) on them they still get a large amount of play due to their 99.95% optimal payback and you know that MS is making money on them.
I had stopped by MS on my way back from FW a few weeks ago.
FW still my main casino now that I’ve left AC. Unless I can find out how well ( or badly) MS treats BJ players I will hardly if ever go there again.

Just got back from a three day MS stay today. The Pickem machines are back near their old location by the Sports bar along with most of the other VP machines moved from the old poker room. There are still a few banks left but every day we were there additional banks were being taken apart. It appears all slots and VP machines are being moved from the old poker room and the adjoining “birch tree room”. Asked a few employees about moves and evidently the two areas being cleared will be used for another purpose but only rumors what it might be.
3 days at MS ? What do you play there considering lack of comp pts. ?
Let me start off saying we value the
whole getaway experience and in that regard have found nothing in the
NE to compare to Mohegan. The place is immaculate, the staff
friendly, and a nice choice of dinning outlets. Also enjoy the
lounge access seven days a week for a quick breakfast and lunch. Since switching from AC casinos to Mohegan we have been Sachem and
now Soar level always getting a corner suite. We enjoy playing bar
tops with a few drinks before lunch & dinner and again no NE
casino I’ve visited can compare with the number of bars/bar tops.
As far as games, yes it was a
disappointment with the comp reduction but we still earn more than we
spend under the new system playing a mix of full pay (no comp dollars
but status points) and non full pay(comps and status) plus the
status achievement awards offered. Also, without going into detail if you
scout around there are some opportunities in the comp paying machines
approaching 99%.
I realize we are giving up some profit
potential but for a once a month trip I can accept that based on all
the positives I’ve mentioned.
Hi,
Have any Foxwoods players been to the new outlets they opened up, and more importantly, have you used any of your Foxwoods Rewards points at any of the stores? If so, are all, or the majority, of the stores accepting them, and are they accepted at a 1-for-1 rate?
Just curious to find out the lay of the land before heading out there tomorrow. Thanks for any info!

Thanks. I get plenty of emails from FW, but I don’t think I got that one.

Answering my own question, after my trip out to FW, the outlet mall is beautifully done, and most of the stores are open for business. It seems like most of the stores are accepting Rewards points, on a 1-for-1 basis, and a couple that aren’t yet, said they were awaiting sign-off by “corporate” but that they would be accepting them soon. Two in particular that are in the latter group, Brooks Brothers and Columbia, said that they expected approval very soon.
There are red sticker signs on the stores saying that they take the points, and they may just have been put on today, as we didn’t see them yesterday.
The only stores that sort of sneered at the question were a couple of kids clothing stores that looked like they had cheap crap anyway, not the kind of stuff I’d have MY grandkids wearing.
I don’t know how successful the mall will be - it wasn’t very crowded this afternoon - but the selection of stores is good, and this is a much better use of points than the stores inside FW itself.

Foxwoods got a windfall which must have helped its finances.
