MS lowers gas prices

For those looking to use their Mohegan Sun banked comp dollars, note that last week, I noticed Mohegan Sun was advertising their gas prices on a sign on the main driveway, and surprisingly they are no longer ridiculously excessive. The have gone from about 40% above the going price per gallon to now less than 10% above the going price.

Unfortunately, I was not prepared for this, and had filled up the morning of my trip to the area.

When I was last up, FW was even cheaper for their gas.

I've been playing more VP there, especially since they now reduced the RF payout to 5 coins with FP DDB & JoB...and making some points at least, as opposed to FP VP at MS with zilch points.

Ain't competition great?

I had noticed that MS had reduced their prices a while back, apparently anticipating FW's gas station opening. FW is at market price, but if you use points it is 1.5 points per $. They also now have a full-service Burger King, including even the value menu. Unfortunately, I didn't think to ask whether those prices are also 1.5 for $1.

But realistically, the reduced max coin VP machines, with the better pay tables matter more than the few bucks for gas. You need to look carefully though, because not all the $1 VP DDB is 9/6. Some machines are still at 9/5.
