Hi all,
My girlfriend and I are thinking of heading to MS over Labor Day and
I'm looking for ideas on places to stay close by. The rooms at MS seem
pretty expensive for that Sunday and Monday, so I'd like to save a few
bucks and stay offsite, but close.
Looking for recommendations on a nice place (not Motel 6) maybe with a
pool, for under $200 a night. The nicer the better.

There are only two non-casino places nearby both off exit 1 instead of
exit 2:
The Best Western is on Rt 32 .6mi south of the employee garage. It is
high priced for a Best Western but should still be <$200 for a busy
holiday weekend and does fill up. If you stay here, you are best off
taking the employee entrance on 32 instead of getting back on the
highway. It's also right next to the normal priced Citgo/7-11 station.
The other is the Microtel also on Rt 32 1.1mi south of the employee
entrance and on the other side of the highway overpass; it runs around
$100 and is easier to get rooms since fewer people know about it.
Don't forget to mention AAA or AARP if you have it.
