In the interests of keeping my usually overly verbose response short, I didn't mention that he drove down once a week, stayed in the AC area for his 5 day shift and drove home for his two days off. The only reason I really remembered the conversation at all was that I had done some consulting work in South Jersey a year before that, and did the same thing.
I don't remember exactly where he lived in CT, because I had just moved to CT at the time and wasn't all that familiar with the towns. He noticed my CT license. That's when he said he lived in CT, and when I asked him why he didn't work at MS or Foxwoods, that opened the conversation. (Parenthetically, that was the night I hit 4oak Aces on DDB three times within 45 minutes, necessitating 3 w2g's, making it a somewhat memorable night, and a somewhat extended period of conversation) But I did get the impression he had done this for a while, and I guessed that he might have had some seniority because he was servicing the high limit slot area.

I once spoke at length to a slot attendant in Caesar's AC, who told
me that he actually lived in Connecticut, relatively close to MS, but
drove all the way down to, and worked in AC, because he got double
the pay that MS offered.

It's a 4 1/2 drive from Uncasville to Atlantic City and it's another
4 1/2 hours back from Atlantic City to Uncasville.
