MS Cabaret Bar

Last night we toured the area that was the cabaret bar. It is a soon
to be opened very high table game area with a yellow chip ($1,000)
minimum. To the outside and to the right is a new bar with bar top
machines. The machines were turned on this morning, and, of the 10 or
so machines I was able to check, 2 had $1 9/6 JOB and the rest 8/5.
Played one of the 9/6's. Was told by one of the suits we talked to
that the bar (which has yet to be stocked) will provide waitress
service for the high rollers, so he expects this bar to have liquor of
kind given at the 32nd floor lounge. I wonder if this will be free if
you are playing at the bartops? Will be returing Sunday for the
Superbowl party.

Too bad they were not all 9/6 JoB. When we get a full confirmation on
the new machines I'll update the database. As far as the comp drinks
go I know they have some of what they call "top shelf" liquor at the
round bar in the new casino, but they will not comp Grey Goose to
players only absolute, so that will probably be how they will do it at
the new bar. So, who here will be the first to step up and play $1,000
table games? -Russ

Guess that means no Hennessy's Paradis, lol.

If they have single deck BJ with good penetration, 3/2 bj, dealer
stands on soft 17, resplit As, late surrender & double on any, I
imagine a number of us would be interested with backers. I nominate
cdfsrule or Joel or lurkers Mark or Don as players. Might be forced
to relearn counting tequnique - yuch. However as long as I am
fantasizing, I might as well wish for a money tree or back to back
dealt royals.

I'll update the database. Does anyone remember what the new name of
the bar is? I think it's the sunrise bar or something like that.
Also will the new bar near the cove have machines? Thanks, -Russ

Russ,
I checked them this morning. There are 13 machines with 3 FP JOB.

The

machines are the same as the other bars. The cabaret only had 4
before the change over so at least they have not cut out all of the

9-

6. Considering there are less seats it isn't as bad as it could

have

been. If they follow this pattern, we will still have 9-6 JOB.
The rod stewart concert was great. We had front row seats and Dori
got to touch him twice. The bar near the cove is going to have

about

30 seats and should open in the next week or two.

I think the name is Sunrise. The bar near the cove will have VP but
my bartender friend does not know what the pay schedule yet. He knows
a lot of the techs and he will try to get as many 9-6 as he can...

I'd be amazed if your bartender friend has that much influence over the
techs than management has. But while your at it, why don't you get
them to throw in some full-pay Deuces.

From their press release:

Mohegan Sun, the Northeast's premier entertainment destination in
southeastern Connecticut, is undergoing a series of renovations in the
Casino of the Earth and Casino of the Sky prior to its Project Horizon
expansion. First, on Friday, February 2nd, Mohegan Sun is opening a
new semi-private table games area that will accommodate eight to
eleven tables depending upon customer needs. Standard games will
include blackjack midi-baccarat and roulette. This semi-private gaming
area is located outside the Cabaret Theatre in the Casino of the Sky,
and also features the new Sunset Bar with 12 slot machines housed on
the bar top.

Meanwhile, in the coming months, Mohegan Sun will open three
additional bars in the Casino of the Earth. The Lodge bar will be
located across from The Cove restaurant and the Harvest Moon bar will
be stationed across the Asian gaming area – each with 32 slot machines
on the bar top. And a new MINI version of the Bow & Arrow sports bar
will open near the Season's Buffet with 12 slot machines.

In addition, Mohegan Sun plans to add 225 slot machines near the
Spring Gateway in the Casino of the Earth.
