MS Blackjack Tournament

button starts at the right.
Six decks, Stand soft 17, no surrender, DAS, resplits (up to 4 hands)
except aces, no RSA, for the tournament there is no insurance and you must
take your 3-2 on dealt BJs.
Also hands 18-20 are no limit.

Thanks for the information Jay and Toonces. So on a couple of rounds

first

place is not essential for adavancement. Hopefully no need to get very
aggressive in round 1 anyway. Is the initial placement of the button

random

and placed after seats are set? Just wondering if there is any

possibility

to engineer a placement just to the right of the button on the final

round.

···

Just refreshing memory on MS BJ rules: No LSR, S17?, DOA, DAS, RSA?
Haven't played blackjack at MS in a couple of years.

Round 1: 4-5 at a table and 3 advance. You can rebuy for a 2nd
chance to advance for $30. Start with 1000 in chips. Bets range
from 50-500

Round 2: 4 at a table, 1 advance. Start with 1500 in chips. Bets
range from 50-500

Round 3: 6 at a table, 2 advance. Start with 2000 in chips. Bets
range from 50-500

Round 4: Final Table. Start with 2500 in chips. Bets range from 50-
1000

20 hands with a chip count after 17 hands.

Rules are normal Maj. Star BJ rules. Double after split is allowed.

Thanks for all the information, everyone. The tournament was fun, though
fortune wasn't with me yesterday. I figure I was playing better than over
half the other participants that I faced and this was my first tournament.
I think there is opportunity for the skilled player here and a comped entry
makes it a no brainer for any advantage gambler.

Management and organization of the tournament is indeed a problem as others
have mentioned here. I think it is as much a problem for the casino as
participants, as tournament players are forced to do a lot of waiting and
basically sitting on their hands in the tournament area rather than where
the casino presumably wants them --At the tables or machines. I only lasted
through the second round and had very little gambling time until after I was
knocked out sometime after 4PM. This means I spent more than 5 hours in the
casino without giving them much action. I think announcing upcoming
sessions over the PA and relocating tournament registration and processing
to a less congested area would go a long way to alleviating non gambling
wait time.
