I agree that Majestic is a great midwest play. That's why I drive from Detroit every other month or so to play. The Detroit area casinos have cut back, MS has increased their offerings and the Detroit casinos insist on a $6 rake for the live poker games.

I like MS in general but I need to see a pretty good BB check to make the trip. It helps if the program is consistent and my checks arrive soon enough so that I can plan my trips.

I don't think MS wants to tick off their customers but if BB is 0.4% per week for the last 2 month average, changing it to 0.1% per week for the current month is going to upset people.

MS is the low grossing casino in the area. I do my best to support them and send them players whenever I can. I just wish their BB was a little less Harrah's - like.

As for figuring it out, I'd be willing to tabulate. Let's agree as a group on what parameters to track. I 'll put my previous list as a starting point. Let's start tracking bounceback checks received and play sessions starting NOvember 1st. The BB rate will be an approximation but after we track November and December play, we should be able to figure out January BB.

That seems pretty good actually. Comparing that to the typical 10%
rake the equivalence point is a $60 pot. So for all pots above $60
which is usually the case for a 5-10 game which isn't excessively
tight, the $6 is actually a bargain.

So where do you play poker on your trips to MS? Trumps? Harrahs? Your
thoughts on playing at these places?

You make a good point. Many of us depend on the BB to help defray the
cost of future trips. I was just astounded by one of the things
Jessica told me, namely that coupon redemption factors into future BB
awards. She was trying to get me to believe that apparently enough
people don't redeem their coupons so that redemption rate has actually
become a factor in calculating BB. My response - a resounding Scooby
Doo "Huh?" I should believe that people are just too lazy to avail
themselves of free money? Right.

Quite true. A message worth repeating. Maybe one day it'll sink in.

I wish you all the best. My BB will soon dwindle to zero so
unfortunately I will have no data to contribute. Between this BB
aggravation and numerous other issues my cup simply runneth over. I've
given MS a fair shake but have not gotten one in return so it's time
to move on to other endeavors.
