Thanks. I kept your 100% strategy recommendations in mind, but it was
not neccessary to apply them. The winning hand required no thought, a
3 card royal with 2 blanks. I simply held and watched the rest get
filled in.
Also I rembered that rather than using an explicit formula it would be
trivial to modify paytables in Frugal to determine the number of coins
for a game returning 100%. I didn't find any explicit function in
Frugal that yields the number of coins given the return, but it takes
very little time to just change the 5 coin jackpot payoff until a
return of 100% is arrived at.
Right now I'm pondering the trade off of return vs. variance as I'm
considering revisiting the $1 bartops. OEJ is out for the time being
as I cannot weather its dry spells. DBDW is interesting, but I rarely
am dealt any deuces. The leading contenders are TB+ (99.8% var=44.28)
and JOB (99.54% var=19.51). Of the 2 TB+ is much more interesting, but
JOB has such a simple strategy that I can play an enormous number of
hands error free per hour. The lower variance and ease of play has to
mitigate the difference of .26 in the return which admittedly isn't
that great to begin with. OTOH, since I'm pretty good at NSUD maybe I
should make the adjustment to DBDW (99.81% var=40.39) despite not
having had any prior success with it. I was surprised to discover that
DBDW actually has a lower variance than TB+ !

You did it! You got the jackpot up to 1300 before yours truly
collected on Thursday morning. I knew my faith was not misplaced.
