MS $1 PE Theo Trip report

Wednesday played $1 PE all day but not on same machine.
One day action provided 329 MS points @ 1.1% earn rate
= about $30K thru machines.
Went to Lounge and asked host to look at second screen.
She said theo = $1,048.
So, I figure the PE theo is 3.5%.
$30K x 3.5% = $1,050.

It was not an issue at all asking lounge host for theo
on second screen. Great advice.
Knowledge is power.
BioWillie Nelson/Haggard/Price quite a show.
Like 8th straight losing session. This time $600.
Ouch. We need to hear about some winning sessions on PE!
By the way, all $1 PE machines now deal middle card first.
What's up with that?

That's a low theo %. I've been getting 5.85% (last time 4 weeks ago)
w/o much variance. Are you sure you did not play across 6am, or that
the 1048 was across the entire day? Even my heaviest win day did not
go below 5.3%

Middle card first might have to do with randomness (or lack of) of the
machine. I'll have to check the next time I play and reply later.
Answers concerning randomness are usually lengthy and involved. I did
notice one of the infamous Joker Poker's in Sky with a display table
change (looks like IGT's); there's probably been some programming
upgrades.

When they changed the PE in Sky from coin droppers to TITO, the
software upgrade dealt the middle card first. A week later the same
software was installed in the slant tops. Also found a slow "medium
speed" setting on dealing cards, had a tech speed it up to "high". The
speed setting is game dependent.

I found the dealing of the middle card first to be very distracting,
made a number of playing errors. Perhaps that's the idea, to increase
the hold on the machine.

I was there Monday night to use my shopping coupon. I played some PE

did not think to check to see if all the other games were still
available on that machine. I will look when I am there on Saturday. If
they did update the software, then they could also have adjusted the
theo for the machine. I will do an experiment on Saturday to find out.

On Monday when I was leaving, I took a walk by the PE machines in the
Sky casino. I noticed that they had the hardware to print out tickets
on the top of the machines. I did not play so I do not know if the
ticket dispensers were activated. Hopefully, they did not lower the
payout threshold to require hand pays for 4oak or straight flushes. I
will check that out on Saturday as well.

I was there last Saturday, and the entire bank of
$1.00 Pick'Em machines in the Sky Casino were
converted to TITO operation.

I played about four random machines and the TITO
system was working fine. My only problem with these
machines is that they appear to be set higher off the
ground than other uprights in the casino. Over time it
becomes uncomfortable more quickly playing these.

Stevie,
Could have been a mistake. You know "garbage in garbage out."
I'll now frequently ask lounge host for theo. Maybe host read screen
wrong. Advice from Vegas friends is not to ask same host about theo
more than once/trip. LVH VP machines were providing a great
theo/cashback about a year ago. I always wondered if the theo was
changed because of frequent inquiries from players.
Concerning the middle card being dealt first on the PE machines:
Has anyone every played the IGT "Pick a Pair?" I remember playing the
FP Pick a Pair's in Mesquite, NV and think they might have dealt the
middle card first. Maybe Bally's just copying IGT (tit for tat?)

I put 20 points on my card in the morning using the PE machines in
the old poker room and then headed to the lounge. I asked the host
what my theo was and she said that she was not allowed to tell me
that information. Hmmmm. Maybe it is not information that they like
to give out.

I played some more after that but did not ask on my next visit to
the lounge - didn't want to get shot down twice in one day. I'll try
again the next time I'm there but I'll make sure that it's a
different host at the door.

Luck and Royals to all.
