Movie - Casino and slots

Just watched the move again; it's been a long time. One scene in movie
shows the main charactor talking to slot manager and was angry because
best machines were not right up front. As I remember slot guy was
saying he had the progressive slots and the better slots in the back
of the casino. Only about a one min. scene. However, it reminded me
of the old days. The story was the house wanted paying machines up
front so people could see players hitting. Good for customers to see
winners.

Today management had a reverse strategy. They stick the 8/5 JOB and
the 7/5 Bonus up front; in your face. Take it or leave it; they don't
care. The icing on the cake, you play for comp account and CB is
almost nothing. So we lost the CB, got crummy paytables to play and
have to earn comps, which used to be given without question. And...
we play???

Who are you calling "we"? Sure, there's always people who will throw
money at anything, even slick willy's dice game around the corner,
just like there's people who do crank. I don't play (risk my money) if
the game isn't beatable. It costs nothing (but time) to scout, better
to scout for a beatable game than get beat (lose money) by a game that
isn't beatable. Didn't yo momma tell you, you gots to shop around.
And, no, I ain't telling you were all the beatable games are, nice try
though. There are still casinos that are trying to increase business,
your job is to find them before the unwashed masses, vpinsider, and
vpfree does. You're unlikely to find beatable games at casinos that
simply don't care.
