Motor City Swipe and Win

I didn't even get five bucks! I went yesterday after work, when I swiped my card it said it was already swiped. I asked the attendant and she ran a check. Apparently it was swiped at 10:01am Monday, one minute after the kiosk opened, and used 10:04am with no other play on the card. The attendant was very nice but she kept asking me if I was sure i didn't use it or if anyone else had access to me card and number which no one does.

I asked her if she thought it was strange that from open to use of the "freeplay" was done in 4 minutes and she said all she could do is give me a new card and new password. I did this then left without playing a penny. I know it would have just been five bucks so I didn't want to argue but I was really turned off about the whole thing. I think they could have offered at least five bucks or something.

Anyway has this happened to anyone else?

That is very strange, I could see someone swiping their own card and having the card reader misread it as YOUR card, and then when you went to swipe, you got that message, but then the $5 would have been on your card still. Obviously someone else has access to one of your cards and to your pin # maybe..... That sounds pretty creepy to me, you were smart to change the pin #.

I don't like the fact that when you put your pin # in at MC, most of the VP machines are in full display and anyone standing behind you can read your pin # then, or fully see your number entry, it's a bit harder at GreekTown on the older machines with the smaller buttons. I never use their E-cash way of transferring credits from machine to slot card and back to machine, just for that reason, I normally don't leave any points on my card either from day to day or week to week as if you do have a dispute about missing points, you have very little proof of where it went to, or who redeemed it then. I cash it all out before I leave, just for that reason.
