Went over to Motor City today. Peggy got $5 in free play and another $5 if you earned 480 points. It's $6/point so we basically got double points for $2880 CI.
I had my brush with infamy. Playing triple play, I was dealt 4 to the royal and snagged one. The next hand, I was dealt 4 to the royal again. Alas, no back to back royals. Still, that is the first time I have heard of that happening.
While Motor City is not very high on my list, one aspect is truly best in class for the Detroit area casinos. I had not played at Motor City in probably a year but when I swiped my card, it showed $21.29 in comps available. Peg and went to the rib place and got 2 combo platters for $10 each. Unless you are a really big eater, 2 combos will feed 3 people for sure.
At Greektown, I managed to hit the gas card drawing for $250, which was nice. The drawing is at 8 PM. They post the names and you have 24 hours to claim your prize. We had already left the building and Peg said we should go check the board, which we had forgotten to do earlier.
Once again at Greektown, comp balances are a mystery. Last time I had $30 when I thought I should have around $100. I played poker last time so no comp increase. This time I asked for $40 and was given it without a blink, so I'm guessing there is more in the bank.
It's amazing how different the policy is at Motor City vs Greektown. If only the 4 area casinos would get together and put the best parts of each into a new, super casino. I can dream.
