We stayed at Motor City Casino last Sunday night. We were going to the Lions and Wings games and decided to spend the night. My wife got a room at Motor City on Orbitz for $106 total, which was pretty good. Greektown was more and MGM is always a ton. We don’t play enough at the local casinos anymore for the automatic free rooms, so this was a pretty good alternative.
We got a nice surprise at check in. Our included access to the 15th floor lounge. Big shrimp, pot stickers and chicken wings for dinner. Oatmeal, cereal, Danish and coffee cake for breakfast. Saved us 4 meals.
Now for the best part. Our cards had expired. It seems that Motor City turns off your card for 6 months of no play. So, we now qualified for the ‘play an hour, get a room deal’. I ended up playing 20 play, penny 6/5 super aces. The highlight of that play was hold 3 to the royal and filling it in on 2 lines.
So, if you don’t have a Motor City card or have a card that doesn’t have any play in the last 6 months, you can get a room night for an hours play. This applies to play at the tables as well.
