The new French restaurant is called Mistral I believe. It is in the
formerly empty Le Montrachant room, which some of you may remember as the room that
held a couple of Skip Hughes group meetings - near the Steakhouse. The chef
or affilation is Andre - who does Andre's and Alize at the Palms.

I spoke to host Gloria Denniston that says for C3 you now need 1000 points a
day, and for C2 1500 points. This is $30,000 a day (or figure per room
night booked) for VP, $15,000 for slots.

For C3 you get a suite or "large" room, 2 tickets to Star Trek (they
possibly might give you an extra one or 2), 2 tickets to the current show, access to
the VIP check in which has some booze and soda and cookies, access to the
VIP buffet breakfast, food in the coffee shop, Benihanas, Chinese next to
Benihanas, Robota (or something like that) in Benihana Village, a few other small
restaurants like the ice cream shop I think, probably bars, and the buffet.

At C2 you definitely get a 1-bedroom suite or a lanai room by the pool (1
room suite), all the above, plus room service, Steakhouse, Sushi place in
Benihana Village, and Andamo's (I'm probably not spelling that right - the Italian
place).

There is also a C4 level - don't know what that gets (lower than C3).

Presuambly comps are for 2 people, but when I was C2 and had a 3rd person,
they picked up her meals, but then we only charged 2 dinners, and also gave me
a 3rd ST ticket. I don't know if they would cover more than that.

Comps are accrued as you play as well, and these additional comps could be
used for French Mistral (which is not covered by C2 or C3), or other people,
and maybe the gift shop?

It seemed to me that the longer you played, the faster comps accumulated -
maybe there is some sort of increase as you play more and more money.

You also get cashback - $30,000 through on VP equals 1000 points or $100 - I
think that is .3333 of 1%? Figure double that cashback for "reels."

Table games are rated separately from slots - I don't know if you could play
both and use them together for better ratings - probably?

Good games - All American, NSU, 9/6 JB on triple play $1 (only 4 in the
casino - and sometimes you can't get a seat), 8/5 JB progressives in quarters and
$1 that sometimes get high. It was almost at $8000 for one dollar machine
when I left. They also have Loose Dueces. (Pick Em maybe?).

So far no new machines but they expect to get some as new owners take over.

New signups or people picking up a new card (no longer part of Park Place
Connection) can get chance for $1 Million promotion with 50 points - and
everyone gets a prize (we got t-shirts last time). People who already have the new
card don't get any more chances.

I saw a bin for nightly drawing for cash and prizes for certain table game
results.

Promotional mailings may include a chance for a drawing for a cruise.

Vegas locals don't get the promo mailings and may not be able to get good
comps, so if you have 2 homes, use your non-Vegas address.

Monorail connects directly to the Star Trek Casino at the Hilton.

Let's see, that works out to $45K vp per day for C2. Hmmm, they allow
about a 4% theo so that's a gross win of $1800. Return 30% of that to
the player in comps ... $540/day.

Last I checked, a casino rate room goes for $60, let's allow $120 for
one of their suites (well, I'll allow $180 for one of their end-hall,
nicer double-bedroom suites -- but frankly, I'd never pay that in cash
for the modest appointments in those rooms and slightly larger than
closet sized bathrooms).

Over 3 nights that leaves a $1000+ balance for food, beverage, and
other comps. I suppose if you're a REAL comp hound, you might consume
that, but we've never come close.

Maybe I'm off in my calcs here or unrealistic in expectations. But
let me put it this way. Take $45K daily action over to the strip (or
does LVH think that monorail access makes them ON-strip) and you'll
get a whole lot more quantity and quality for your action.

I hope you're mistaken misscraps (or, since that's unlikely, that Ms.
D. is). LVH has fallen far from the golden status it once had in my
book, but this would plummet it into oblivion.

Based on our stay at the end of July I think this info is correct.
Too bad, our status is down to C4.

It would now seem that LVH comps (C-rated levels) are now on par with
the Strip requiements. If Colony is now going to require strip-level
play to meet comp requirements, might as will stay on the Strip. Any
good suggestions/recommendations?

Based on our stay at the end of July I think this info is correct.
Too bad, our status is down to C4.

Per my previous comments, I think you've got the right idea here if
you're looking for solid "vacation" play.

Unfortunately, a couple of the strongest Strip plays as of a year ago
have since gone by the wayside. NYNY was the best of these, with
excellent player promos and very good comps on moderately strong play.

Treasure Island also provided good comps on moderate play, but the
better plays have largely been removed.

That leaves me challenged as to who to recommend. If I had to go with
any one property, I guess I'd opt for Caesars. While play
requirements for comps are relatively high compared with LVH (even
now) at least what you get in exchange is First Class. It's an
extraordinary property.

While Jacks is pretty much the mainstay play, the diversity in
denominations and multiplays keeps a stay interesting. (See the
