more on Gold Coast mailer change

My husband asked at the change booth today and was told it was 42,000 points
for the A mailer, 60,000 for A+. Yet a few days ago a different person told
me in no uncertain terms it was $42,000 (dollars) per month for A mailer.
All very odd, and I'm not sure how to check. I am writing a letter.

I recently stayed at the Gold Coast, on their "out of town" offer. It was not the most generous, but better than nothing. $15 in free play, 3 nights comped, and a $30 food credit for food charged to the room. I asked the slot club exactly what the $30 food credit in the offer meant, and they gave me a very bizarre answer - "oh, that's only if you use room service @!". Anyway, Since I earned about $250 in comps while there, I paid for all the food our party ate ( which was reasonably priced compared to strip places ) with points, and cashed out with $150. So when I was set to video check out, I expected a charge of $0.00 since no food and comped up front rooms. Lo, and behold I see I owe them $30!!! I called the front desk ( this was 6 AM ) and they told me, I MUST give them that coupon that came with the offer on checkout, to take the $30 charge off my bill ! I explained that I had not used that coupon at all, in any way, shape or form, and paid for all my meals with comp dollars ( which did go off my account 10 minutes after using them ). He told me, that he had to follow orders, "no cardboard ticket, no deduction". Luckily , I found the coupon in the garbage that I had thrown out the night before, and when I surrendered it at the front desk, The total went back down to zero. I guess food is not really free at the GC !

Tom's experience is nothing new. It's been my experience that they
have always had this requirement in order to get the food comped.

Whenever I have stayed at Gold Coast and Orleans on similar offers,
I have ALWAYS had to give them the mailer. In every mailer that I've
received from them, it says right on the coupon that you must have
the coupon in order to get the free food (and/or free play, if applicable).

Tom ended up getting his food for free, just like they promised. So,
I don't understand his statement, "I guess food is not really free at the
GC!"

I think his statement refers to the fact that he used his earned comps to
pay for the food instead of the coupon. If you use your comp dollars to
cover your food, then it should be covered...not covered except for $30.
