But is that for YOU? A direct mailer? I only list those available to everyone. If you know for sure, please let me know and I will post it. My mailer has no mention of Suncoast in it all even tho I play there sometimes. Boyd mailers and promotions are very strange the past 6 months or so.

I put a large amount (low 6 figures) playing a higher denomination VP machine on a couple of the 7x days. That was a few months ago. No offers, no mailers, nada. What gives?

Since Suncoast is the only Coast casino that grants multipliers on more than 10k base points, I would assume you played there and on the $5 Bonus Poker Deluxe. You have probably been no mailed and a return to the property will likely get you a very rude trespass too.

Trespass? I noticed the big “7X” sign and sat down to play. Not a very smart way to run a marketing campaign.

That's the M.O. at the Suncoast. They're morons.

I'm not so sure. Getting rid of "undesirables" may be the best
business policy.

Knee-jerk decisions on high rollers as undesirable is a very poor business practice.

Advantage players and 'undesirables' are not the same thing.

They could just cut off the slot club benefits of anyone whose play they
didn't like. But they take the heavy handed approach and actually have
security guards read the trespass act (as a first contact) and escort them
off the premises.

When they do this, they also lose that person's business in the movie
theater, the restaurants, the sports book, any other gambling, etc. And,
of course, the business of anyone they might have brought along.

Morons.

These days playing any machine over a dollar denomination on a multiplier day is likely to get you 86’d. It makes no sense, but the casinos make the rules and that is apparently one of their rules. Some casinos even 86 dollar machine players. You quarter players look out, you’re next on the radar. The casinos really want everyone to play the penny and nickel machines because they have the highest holds percentage wise. Of course that’s why you see casinos going under, very few casinos can pay the “resort” overhead on the win from penny and nickel machines. This is just more good news for the low overhead casino concessions, like the airport, Dotty’s, gas stations, sportsbars, internet poker, etc.

As a rule of thumb, this statement is pretty good — especially if you believe it’s correct to error on the side of caution. There are numerous exceptions, however.

The Gold Coast, for example. Even though it is a sister property to Suncoast, $2 single line play at either NSU or Double Bonus Deuces Wild (99.8%) is tolerated. They do limit base points to $10,000 coin-in per multiplier day — but you can still play and earn mailers.

When, however, Suncoast puts a system-wide “no-mail” on your account, they honor that at the Gold Coast as well even if your play there was otherwise tolerated.

Bob

Kudos to Gold Coast. I believe Dotty’s has NSU up to $5 and 20 coins or something like that and I’ve never heard of anyone getting 86’d at Dotty’s, in fact they may not even have security, if there’s real trouble they just call 911 like most other businesses. They have multipliers and one of the better mailers also, just none of the nonsense “resort” overhead of the big casinos. Like most casinos though you do have to lay low (“the cooling off period”) for a while after hitting a taxable.

Thanks, Bob. While I have not received anything from Suncoast I am still getting mailers from other Vegas and non Vegas Boyd properties so it doesn’t look like the system wide ban has happened.
So at your level of play do you have to skip multiplier days to avoid getting 86’d?
This policy seems crazy. Why don’t they just advertise “Lo rollers only wanted”?

Mostly correct. Most Dotty’s have $5 NSU up to 50 coins. It might not sound like it, but there’s an EV difference between 20 coins and 25 coins. At 24 or more $5 coins, you get a W2G for straight flushes — a once in 195 hands event. They pay bonuses for W2Gs so getting more of them is a good thing — if you can deal with the tax consequences.

Laying low after taxables isn’t required — unless it’s a “big” taxable. Playing $120 or more per hand so as to maximize W2Gs, “big” means hitting a set of deuces or a royal. Basically you can hit all of the dirty royals, 5-of-a-kinds, and straight flushes you like without negative consequences — and win W2G drawings regularly — since you’re virtually guaranteed to be a loser so long as you don’t hit deuces or a royal. Once you hit a big one, you need to lay low for four months.

I know one guy who said (perhaps 2 years ago — I haven’t seen him since) he can’t get mailers from there no matter how long he lays off.
