More Information on the 2 $240,000 Royals

Wow, this is personally very interesting. I just got home from
a week gaming trip (April 19th - April 26th). I looked forward to
the opportunity to post about a unique and interesting experience
I had witnessed early in the trip. I did not know for sure how
much I should share. When I got home I was surprised to see the
$240,000 royal thread. I guess I have a little "real time"
information on this story. I will share some facts since I witness
a little of this "happening". I have read Richard Brodie's Blog.
At first I thought I had met Mr. Brodie. Add a few days scruffy
beard and they would look similar. Some of my facts, and I believe
they are accurate facts, do not exactly match what is in the blog.
And thus make me think the gentleman was not Mr. Brodie. However,
I find the situation interesting.
On Thursday night, I looked in the Palace "High Slots" room.
To my surprise I saw a $100 "3 coin" FPDW. There were three $100
machines. The "3 coin" FPDW was on the left of a bank of 3 Deuces
machines. The middle machine was a "5 coin" 15/9 Illinois Deuces
and the far right machine was a horrible " 3 coin" Ugly Deuces
12/10 (97.58) machine. On Friday, the individual and I talked
about how "stupid" the "3 coin" Ugly Deuces looked compared to
what he was playing. Yes, he knew exactly what he was playing.
I assume if he requested it he also might have known how to play
it correctly. I did not watch his play for this point.
On Thursday night I could have sat at the FPDW machine since
it was open, but was not even tempted. No other video poker
machine in that area was close to full pay. There was a couple
playing 100 play $1 8/5 JoB. An employee was marking all W2-Gs
on a clip board. She hit a royal in the few minutes I was there,
but I bet that collectively they might not have had a good
experience. I wandered off from the Palace High Limit area for
a few minutes.. After about 10 minutes I came back to the room.
At this time someone was playing the machine. I am not positive
of the identity since I did not pay much attention. This was
because the Caesar's recorder immediately ask me to leave the area
since the player did not like to have anyone around. I really was
not too close, but I did not argue and left for the night.
I gave the machine some though and come to the guess that a
particular "high level" player must have requested this special
game/machine consideration. I thought for sure this was a special
request since it was in such a public area. This kind of matches
a comment in Richard's blog. I was sure the wise local people on
this site would have known about this play under any other
circumstance and it would not remain a secret. Even though I was
never going to play it, I wondered if I should even share the
information on this site.
On Friday morning I returned to the machines location. At this
time I saw an "out of service" screen. This totally reinforced
the thought this was a special request opportunity. Later that
afternoon I returned to the machine only to find a gentleman
playing the machine. To my surprise I witnessed him getting a
$60,000 4 Deuces (holding only 2 deuces). The Caesar's employees
went off to take care of business and we had a chance to visit.
He was very open and friendly and I was trying to comprehend this
level of play. He asked me if I was in the drawing. He explained
it was an invite only of 25 people (I think this is the number).
It was a one winner take all $10,000 shopping spree at Caesars.
You earned a ticket for each 10,000 tier credits with a limit of
10. He had already done his one million base points and also a
million for his wife. We estimated together that he and his wife
had about 10 percent of the winning tickets in the pool.
This $60,000 payoff did not seem to amaze him, but probably put
him in a good frame of mind. I must admit he was very friendly
and open to some of my naive and personal questions about his
level of gambling. He told me he had received over 25 $100,000
royals (obviously on $25 machines).
Well, this is what I witnessed. I went away not being able to
comprehend the bank roll requirement. He also told me that he
usually plays 1,000,000 base credits each time he plays. He also
said his wife usually plays about one third the amount he does.
I had witnessed an amazing $60,000. I also meet a man that I
could not comprehend on how he could, or did, maintain the level
of play he spoke of. He did say he was local and usually plays
at the Wynn, Venetian and some Station Casinos. He was very
candid and I really enjoyed talking to him. Just a different
world, but a real nice person. I left after the employee came
back with his marker and chart to again log his results. I do
remember the employee saying how heavy the machine was played all
morning. It sure seemed like he knew that it was "special" play
and the play was open to others.
I do not know how long the play was there . It might have been
only a few days!. That is simply my part of the what I saw and
know! I am sorry this is long, but it is the best I could write
to explain what happened!

Thanks,
Bob
