Every machine with fpdw has been slowed to a virtual crawl at Casino
Monte Lago. The curious thing however is all the other game choices on
these machines are set to faster speeds. Spoke with a floor supervisor
and he told me that 'managment'told him that they were losing money on
the full pay ducks due the increased volume on 5x pts. days. I know
CML's somewhat anal retentive policy about 'all' machines to be set at
the same speed with 'serious'consequences to employees who speed them
up. But this seems to only apply to the fpdw, as all the other
machines are at various speeds, including several with fpjw 4000 at
the 2nd highest speed! Whats with the few casinos (Sams Town, Red Rock)
being so paranoid about fast fpdw machines? If they're affraid of
and/or actually losing money on these games, why not just remove them
entirely? Or downgrade the paytables? Or just bar the 'grinders'?

I applaud casinos that chose countermeasures over removal of good
paytables. Sometimes the measures taken are too extreme and make the
game unplayable, but at least the game remains. Occasionally a
lucrative promotion may come along which again makes the game
playable. Since I am not a "speed player", I find this measure
acceptable in many cases. Remember with TITO you can often average
as many hands on slow machine speed as you used to be able to achieve
with coin play. Other countermeasures I would recommend to casinos
are to not place good paytables on adjacent machines and to place
labels on good adjacent machines "Limit one machine per customer" and
actual enforce them. I'm not so fond of barring skilled players as
this can result in irreversible consequences which are based on
judgement calls by casino personal which may or may not be accurate
and have the potential for being discriminatory in nature.

Besides its all one long game right?
slowing the deal speeds may drive away a few fast action players
good or bad.
the results are butts in seats for a longer time to get in X amount
of action.
I know that personally I make fewer mistakes (especially the uber-
critical button error type) when the machines deal at a moderate
speed. I play with a smoother rhythym thereby increasing hands per
hour.
Besides Most all know what the keys to speed really are those little
troll dolls anyway.
It amazes me at some of the decisions these people (read bozos) make.
they go through all this trouble and expenxse to court these VP
players through their slot clubs. they Make BILLIONS of dollars on
these games. Then make bad decisions centered on some few persons
who can MAYBE make starvation wages at them. the funny thing is that
it is very likely most will tip off or blow off most of it to the
staff, in the poker room, in the pits or dining rooms.
the players who can show significant NET profits are very few and
far between. And those that do likely just have their eyes on
bigger gambles anyway.
they could likely do much better concentrating on employee non
production issues and fixing poor customer relations than they
can ... I dont know , maybe... save (?) on slowing down the games.

Really? Over what interval of time? This may be stretching things just a tad?
