Monte Carlo update

There's an interesting article in the Saturday Las Vegas Sun about the
emergency response resources. Next time you see a Las Vegas cop or fireman say.
"Thank you for risking your life so us citizens can be safe."

Capt Steve Smith and his wife Jill are friends of my peg. Steve
interestingly enough spent his first day on the job as a fireman at
the MGM fire.

Thanks for sharing that article. Oh, and don't foret those people on
the hotel housekeeping staff (like Ms. Santiago) who started knocking
on doors to make sure people got out.

I've been in NYC almost 18 years now, and work in a hi-rise. It still
baffles me when an "unscheduled" alarm goes off, just how many people
pay no attention and simply continue on with their work - and then
give you an exasperated or annoyed look/remark when you tell them they
should head for an exit. After 9/11 and the '03 blackout, I don't
wait for some voice from a speaker to tell me it's a false alarm.
