Today's Wall Street Journal had a long article about the monorail. It
mentioned the fare is expected to be $3 and that they are selling advertising space
on the outside as well as inside to subsidize costs. There may even be
advertising videos to watch when you are inside. The interesting article also
discusses why it is taking the route it is and why there won't be stops at some
areas you might expect, like the Sands Expo/Convention center - this depended on
which casinos agreed to help pay for it and which didn't. Probably some of
them are now sorry they didn't help pay for the monorail, because it probably
will give extra business to the ones who did pay.
