To answer your question, it's obvious why the monorail didn't run down
the Strip. No, it's not the disruption to the gridlock on Las Vegas
Blvd. - that's too simple. It's the fact that placing the monorail at
the back of the casino means you have to walk through it to get to the
Strip! The hotels where the monorail stopped hoped to benefit the most
from this. I'll bet an analysis of foot traffic through the Monte
Carlo during the "old" Bellagio-Monte Carlo monorail days vs. now
would be a whole different ball game.
