The $500 loss limit hasn't been a big factor in our gambling experiences. In other words, we have not advanced to that level of play. However, when playing the $5 machines the loss limit could become a major aggravation. Sticking 500 bucks in those machines won't get you many more credits that a 20 dollar bill in a quarter machine. And we all know how long that lasts.
If and when we tackle the $5 machines we will probably time it so we start playing just before the start of the next "boarding session" -- believe this is on the even hours at Harrah's and Ameristar. In this case another $500 loss will be available within a few minutes. If both Lucky Lucy and I do this it would give us $2000 for play within a short period of time -- way over my comfort level.

Subject: [vpFREE_KC] Money Management: the Bob Dancer Way
In Carlos' post the other day he was talking about the $500 loss
limit.
There are ways around it. A couple of years ago, Bob Dancer wrote an
article about Kansas City Casinos. What Bob and his wife did was to
buy in for the full amount every 2 hours for a day and then when Bob
had $5,000 - $10,000 in black chips, he began to play. When he needed
money, he would convert his "black chips" into $5.00 tokens.
I don't know but I guess you could put $500 in a machine, and pull out
the $500 TITO and hold it until the next time you play.
I wouldn't do that unless you plan to come back an play within a few
weeks because TITO's do expire after 120 days (and don't expose them to
high heat).
Has anyone tried that?
