Got to Mohegan Sunday morning about 9:15 AM (left home at about 7:00
AM). No one at the dollar Pick'em machines in the old poker room
yet.
Played until noon with a break to get concert tickets at 10:00 AM.
Stayed ahead most of the morning (up as much as $250 ending up about
$120).
I've been away from Mohegan for more than a month. I had a one week
Vegas trip around Thanksgiving so that satisfied my gambling jones
for a while.
At 10:00 AM I went to the ticket booth to see if they had any Rod
Stewart tickets left: they were sold out except for single seats in
diverse sections. Plan B was to get Brooks & Dunn tickets, but they
were also only single seats left. I then moved to plan C, and I
thought I could get Bob Seger tickets, and only having single seats
weren't the problem: they were sold out. Zero for three in my ticket
adventure.
At 12:00 I go to Lalos in the shopping mall area and with my free
Mohegan Christmas bucks and some points and get my wife a necklace
she scouted on their website
Mext, I go to Fidelia's for lunch and afterward decide to try the $1
Pick'Em in the Sky casino. At machine 1 I drop a fast $40; same with
machine 2, I then try a third machine feeding it another $40. I play
about 15 minutes and make back the $120. So I go to cash out and get
my $120. But only $38 comes out.
The slot person is nowhere in sight and then when I spot her about
five minutes later she is tied up with another party's machine for
about another 10 minutes. I just want MY money. She finally comes
over after a fifteen minute wait and pushed some buttons. This gets
me two more dollars out of the machine but I'm still short $80. She
says she notified the cashier's dept. and they'll be over soon to
refill it.
Another 10 minute wait and I accost some guy who looks like he's in
charge. He tries to assure me someone is coming soon. I told him I
had to leave ten minutes ago and that "soon" isn't gonna cut it any
longer. I want my money now and have to leave and I've waited way
too long. He checks the machine and sees how long I've been waiting.
He says he's going to get some tokens for the machines. He returns
in about 3 minutes with two guys behind him carrying bags of tokens
and refills it and I finally get my remaining $80 of tokens. Then
after a trip to an open cashier with another five minute wait I
finally get my cash and get out of there with about 35+ minutes of
my life wasted just trying to get the money I had put in these
machines back out (no winnings involved).
I was supposed to go to Foxwoods from here and pick up some free
gifts but now it is too late for that. So on the way to my car, I
decide to throw in my $220 ticket from the morning sessions in the
Pick'em machines in the old poker room. In about fifteen minutes I
lose it. I then throw in another $100 and after about 10 minutes,
just as "I'm really getting ready to leave, I hit 4oak (four 4s) for
$600. I get paid quickly here and quickly leave up $500 for the day
plus about $75 in comp points.
