I prefer Las Vegas as well. Mohegan Sun offers a good deal, but based on my particular preferences Vegas is the choice. We live approximately half the time in CT and half the time + in NW Vegas (w/i triangle formed by Rampart, Suncoast and Red Rock). Advantages for gaming in Vegas include:
1. 5 minute trip to 3 casinos vs. 1 hr.+ to MS;
2. Larger selection of fp games (DB, SA, JW2, BPdlx, etc. which avoids MS boredom being limited to PE and JOB;
3. Loser slots resulting in slower skinning of slot playing spouse;
4. Better selection of restaurants;
5. Points convertible to cash and/or free play;
6. Better climate.
Certain of the MS advantages such as room comps shopping and shows I am not that interested in. However the trend in LV and MS is both downward, with a number of games eliminated or restricted and comps reduced.

I have to say I'm the lone dissenter. If I was equally close to strip as I was to MS, I'd stay at the Wynn (encore), Belagio, even venetian every time now. WIth real RFB, there is no comparison. For example, Wynn Rooms, service, restaurants, pool are far superior. And yes there are some special lounges and services there (for those who know), but you don't need them (given all the other food options). If total return is important-- again its hard to beat Vegas now (MS at $140 point? $270 point LOL). Ever get a $5000 gift card at MS for the holidays? Didn't think so. Of course, having an in-the-open comp account that carries over from trip-to-trip (like MS) is worth something. But behinds the scenes of that vegas RFB is an almost equivalent account. You just need to understand how it works. If you look (hard enough) in LV you should be able to find a $5, 5% theo game with a comp rate of say 0.15% -- that's 0.75% comp. MS at $270 pt is like what, 0.37% ? 180 at 0.56% ? Sigh If they put it back to $90/pnt, I'd prob. change my tune-- though maybe not. Ever spend a day in a Wynn or Belagio Cabana on the house?
