I was at the Sun last night and it looks like they are replacing a
good chunk of the bally's gamemakers and replacing them with new
machines that I have never seen before. The machines with the full
pay pick'em are all intact. I'm not sure if the machines are from
IGT or Bally's, but I think they are IGT, and the graphics are pretty
crisp. They remind me a little of the graphics from the Odysee
machines (without the ghost hands dealing the cards). They have about
10 game choices. The configurations are an every-other machine set
up. The first will have 3 types of joker poker, and the other will
have more jacks based games. They are .25 and .50 machines with 30-
coin max. Some of the games have pretty funky paytables. I wasn't
prepared for this so I did not have anthing to take notes with. I
did grab $600 from the various games within 30 minutes of finding
them (Merry Christmas to me!!!). No one else playing them seemed to
be hitting much, but they all were puting in a $20 and leaving when
the credits ran out. The best game on all was 8/5 Bonus, followed by
(in no particular order) 9/5 DDB, 9/6/5 DB, 17/7/4700 Kings Joker,
25/12/9/4/4 Deuces. Here are the banks that I saw, there may be more:
Hall of lost tribes near the bar:
(10) .25 30-coin (full Royals at 5-coin) 8/5 Bonus
(10) .50 30-coin (full Royals at 5-coin) 8/5 Bonus
New casino behind the round bar:
2 banks of (8) .25 30-coin (full Royals at 5-coin) 8/5 Bonus
(8) .50 30-coin (full Royals at 5-coin) 8/5 Bonus
I will add these to the database page on Tue (I left all of my
updating notes at work). -Russ
Mohegan Sun update
I just went on to Bally's website:
http://ballytech.com/gameroom/game.cfm?id=1113
http://ballytech.com/gameroom/game.cfm?id=1114
This is some information on the new machines. I hope that they do
not update all of the gamemakers, because that would spell the end of
pick'em, unless they get it configured in the IGT machines (pick a
pair) -Russ
