They have gotten so hungry, it's crazy. Took 50 points from my player account for a Suns game we had reserved, even though I called twice during the week before to cancel the tickets. Now I can go fight them for the points, but I think I'll just forget it and use up the rest ASAP...

I guess the $6300 I lost at the Sun this year is not enough....

Yup, the evil side of me was hoping that their revenues would tank because
of the video poker change but the Irene excuse seems to be more or less on
target. I know AC posted similar dismal numbers because they were forced to
shut down.
I thought it would be difficult for me to withdraw from MS play but their
changes and approach to loyal VP players, even those that were net losers,
was almost insulting. I canceled two trips there in August and two in
September and have set up trips to other casinos. My only problem is
figuring out the best way to cash out my points.

AC revenue was down 20%. It varied from ~30% down to 10% by casino. Borgota was 10%. When I googled AC August results the articles noted AC was shut down/evacuated for 3 days and that things didn't get back to normal for another 3 days.
Apparently AC was havng a "hell of a month" until Irene crashed the party. Both FW and MS had similar perecentage drops in revenues and handle. Handle of over $700 million dollars for August. It may take a very fine tooth comb to determine the results of decimating VP.
Booked our first trip since forever to Vegas/Laughlin end of month.
$300/roundtrip/pp Jetblue non-stop from Boston. Car for 9 days $200 including tax. $500 Macy's Gift Card LVH, $700 FP between LVH, GVR, Main Street and then Aquarius in Lauglin.
Fair bet VP with points and everything comped.
Competition is wonderful.

MS affected by Irene but did not close down like AC did. The interesting figures will be those for September as compared to Sept. 2010.

Problem for us vp players is margin is up even with revenue down. We have to hope for a big drop in revenues compared to FW next month.

Mel...I presume by margin you mean the hold from each machine. Yes this is up but they knew that would happen . I would think that the bottom line is still overall revenue.

Revenue is important but they feel they were down like everybody else because of Irene. Their margins were up and they don't feel like they have lost many players.
For me, I've already been told that I have been downgraded to Sagamore after being Sachem probably since it started. The reason profitability. My wife will stay as Sachem since she is the big 'loser'.
