Those restaurants were all very good to excellent. My only experience with the
Deli, unfortunately was pretty bad, so we never went back.
Chief's Bagels has reopened under the Geno's auspices. They no longer honor
coffee refills, and if English is your first language, you'd better be prepared
for an arduous task ordering and receiving what you want. But even when they
screw up the order, they'll be perfectly willing to argue with you about it.
The fare in the ballroom, except for those seafood events is actually IMHO
pretty pathetic: think bad wedding, unless your idea of haute cuisine is BBQ
brisket. And that was for Sachem events.
For price/quality we like SolToro, Birches and the Sports Cafe. The fried
chicken dinner at Fast Break is a real bargain. Bobby Flay can stuff his
pretentious crap and microwaved sides, and I'm trying to conduct a scientific
experiment to determine if the food/service at Tuscany waxes and wanes with the
phases of the moon or some other phenomenon.

Subject: [vpFREE_NewEngland] Mohegan Sun Restaurants
It's a shame what they're doing to the dining options. Longhouse, Pompeii,
Bamboo, Sunburst, Chief's Bagels all gone. One of the people working at Chief's
Deli told me they'll be closing in January. Chief's makes the best sandwiches
and without Chief's Bagels, where will I replenish my supply of desserts at
home? The stuff at Fast Break might be OK, but the prices are a mystery, as they
are not posted. Seasons Buffet is a joke. Too crowded, cramped, and the food
variety and presentation stinks.
I think Mohegan Sun is planning to get out of the food business and have
outside companies do it all. But I'm not sure what will happen to events in the
ballroom if that is true.
