Mohegan Sun / Foxwoods in CT

Hi,
This is our first post on this site . We're live in Ct about 45
min's from both CT casino's . We frequent Atlantic City monthly. We
would rather drive the 3 hrs to AC than the 45 min. to the Ct casino's .
If you are coming out this way , do yourself a favor and go Atlantic
City instead of the Indians. CTs have the worst VP odds I ever seen ,
most of the JoB are 6/5 !!!!!!! They don't comp very well and you can
never get a drink on the weekends, and if you're not sitting/playing a
machine they won't serve you, ever if you're waiting to get on a
machine. They don't treat their employees well either , a lot of the
Foxwood employee's just had a large walkout . They don't care about
your business because there is no other competition allowed in Ct.
We get free rooms/food/cashback/show tickets/parking/gifts/drinks from
most of the Atlantic City casinos monthly. This is because of the level
of competition there with 14 casinos in a row. If you feel you must go
to the Indians, play the tables or dice or racebook . But watch the
odds whereever you play . THEY DO NOT HAVE TO ANSWER TO A STATE GAMING
COMMISSION , THEY MAKE THEIR OWN ODDS & PAYOUTS AND THEY ARE A
SOVEREIGN NATION. THEY ANSWER TO THEIR OWN INDIAN GAMING COMMISSION.
AND HAVE THEIR OWN LAWS!!
Of all the poker books I've read not too many recommend Indian Casinos
Well thats our opinion for what its worth

Wow, have something against CT casinos? Right you are that there is no (or little)
competition in CT and that there are very few FP games. That is a HUGE problem for the
advantage player. But CT casinos are basically no different from NV casinos, in that they
each set there own payouts (or they just don't have the game)-- and they respond, more-
or less, to their customers and not only the gaming comissions (state or otherwise). Yes,
over the years however since the 2 CT casinos have been open, there have been a few
significantly positve plays (1%+) in New england, and I believe there are still some positive
stuff (especailly if you include points and non-VP). But that is off the main point...

I have noticed that MS (in contrast to Foxwoods) has responded to their customers and
altered payouts based on player activity. That suggests that they (MS) keeps 6/5 JoB
because people play it. Remeber, MS is TODAY one of the only casinos anywhere to have
full pay Pick'em. When they downgraded it (the paytable) some time ago (on $5 and up
machines), play dropped way off. [ Not only did the "pro" players stop playing-- some
even moved across the country to find better plays-- but the more casual players got the
word also and stopped playing] In response MS fixed the pay table (back to FP) but
reduced the points (Reportedly they reduced the points because they were actually losing
money on the game+points+comps). Play didn't pick up enough, so after some time of
monitoring, they increased the points-- but not all the way back to where they were. Time
will tell if this move will increase play on these games.

So, go ahead and boycott the 6/5 (or even 9/5 JoB)-- and try to convince others to do so
also. If enough people stopped playing them (yeah, right), the pay tables would improve
or the games would disappear. But the folks on this list probably don't play 6/5, 8/5, or
9/5 Job. So ranting here is going to help that much. Instead, try some other avenue. You
also might want to boycott the $5 and up FP Pick'em until the points are fully restored--
or maybe not. At this point, I don't know whether that would help get the points back
completely-- especially if they were really losing money at full points. Perhaps, the only
solution may be to get people to play to game who don't know the stratgey. I don't know
about you, but I don'f feel good about telling people to throw away there money...
