Your right. The envelope did have my name on it, which was never the case before. The seats also were great, first row of floor seats for the game. Seats I've never seen before and probably will never see again.

The question is what causes someone to pass the threshold from B to A or S and once you're there, how long do you stay there?

to complain vehemently to your host. Likely someone stole/swapped
your good tickets....

You can't know for sure because it depends on the level of demand for
the particular show/game. I had all the CT Sun games and had A's and
B's and C's. E.G. An S for a Celtics exh. might be a C for Aerosmith.
