If this were a true bulletin board, I would agree that threads that
are off topic would be easy to ignore. This is not a bulletin board,
it is a Email group. On a BBS, if I see a thread that doesn't
interest me, I ignore it. On an email group, either you get a bunch
of emails, that may or may not have a proper subject line; or one big
compilation of emails(ME), which is even harder to ignore irrelevant
posts.
I am the first to admit that I go to a Denver Broncos BBS at a Denver
paper to talk politics. These threads are easy to identify and
engage in conversation or ignore.
PS. Being able to spell does not indicate intellagence.
