Why not try 10 play 9/6 JoB at LV Hilton. Easy room
comps than NYNY ($3000 coin in vs $10k) according to
vpFREE database.

but of course Hilton does the 3day avg over 4 days.
And this is how i understand it:

if u play $9k in 1st day and nothing else, then
9k/3days = 3k per day avg.

if 5k on 1st & 4k on 2nd day, then it's still 9k/3days
= 3k per day.

if 4days:5k, 3k, 3k, 1k then it's 12k x .75 = 3k per
day.

Doing it over 4 days is actually better since if it
was based only over the last 3 days, then you would
have been under the $3k avg.

If i'm wrong, please let me know.

David, LVH and the 10p JB are definitely good plays, however, AP's
advice might possibly serve jontun1 better.

Unless they're comfortable with $1 single line play, that 10-play is
going to be pretty uncomfortable relative to the 3-play they're
seeking out. As you may know from experience, $.25 10-play JB has no
compunction about sucking down $400+ (and not terribly infrequently
$600+) in a given hour.

Plus, as a first-time (or at least infrequent) LV visitor, jontun1 may
prefer the excitement of being on the Strip vs. the relative isolation
of LVH. With the opening of the monorail this winter, access to the
Strip from LVH will become MUCH more convenient (not to mention more
affordable than pricey taxi fare) but even then, if part of the plan
is to explore the Strip heavily I'd personally prefer to be on the
Strip itself.

But, bottom line, both NYNY and LVH are decent options. (Rumpole
provided some other decent off-strip alternatives as well.)
