I have to take a work related trip to Jackson MS on July 6th and will
have a few hours to kill that afternoon/evening. Any suggestions of
nearby casinos? I think Vicksburg would be the closest, but can't tell
from the database that there is anything decent to play there. For the
cost of the extra gas to drive somewhere else, it is probably just as
good to play a machine with a less than optimal pay table. Note, this
is just for fun to kill some time, not to necessarily come out ahead,
though that would be nice. So any thoughts on the ones in Vicksburg or
any other location within an hour or so of Jackson?

The Vicksburg casinos are the closest casinos to Jackson - about 45
minutes away. The Rainbow has the best video poker selection by far.
Nothing over 100%, but high 99%+ games like NSUD and 10/6/40 DDB.
