Missing in Action - the Quarter 9/6 Jacks at the Southcoast

I couldn't find ANY single line quarter 9/6 Jacks, and I must have
looked at dozens of machines throughout the entire casino. Most of the
single line quarter machines didn't even have Jacks or Better on them,
let alone any with the full pay table. Much to my chagrin, the ONLY
quarter 9/6 Jacks I was able to find was a bank of 50-plays.

You could probably have played single line 25c on the50 plays.
Can you describe the location, # of machines, denominations
etc. of the 50 Plays ?

I wound up playing 8/5 Bonus and had a lucky session.

Any location, # of machines, denominations etc. on the 8/5 BP ?

Administrator, can you please update the database - or specify exactly
where the machines are? I'd hate for more people to be misled.

It will continue to reflect what has been posted.

========================================
First of all, I am sorry that my comment to ezfromnwon came out as
derogatory. I did not mean it to. I don't purposely make nasty
comments and don't plan on starting.
When I went to South Coast on it's first day open, my main purpose
was to check out a couple games that I play and also to pick up new
casino chips for my collection.
I started at the front door and there were triple and five plays to
my left as I walked in. I checked their games and found the two best
to be 9/6 JOB and 9/7 Triple Double Bonus at the quarter level.
Nickel and dime were short. Walking towards the casino cage I then
noticed some five play Multi-strikes and checking those, found 9/6
JOB at the quarter level. From there I went to the main cage and
purchased casino chips for me and my buddy's collection. I noticed a
gentleman with a $20k Royal and that attracted me to his area. I saw
9/6 JOB on those machines containing $1, $2, $5 JOB. Thinking back,
I don't recall seeing 9/6 JOB on single line quarters.
I was obviously wrong in posting that there were .25 JOB in single
line. I guess I just had JOB on the brain from the multi-line and
larger denomination machines and just assumed (which is bad). I
won't make this mistake again. I am sorry for any aggravation my
post has caused and will quietly go away until I have something of
value to post.

You're quite right; I probably could have played single line quarters on the 50 plays, but it's not my style to ruin someone else's play. In a casino that has approximately 2400 slot machines (as per Boyd Gaming's SEC 10Q filing dated November 8, 2005, on p.37) with only four of them 50-play, playing single line is just not fair.

I'm reminded me of the people who go to Harrahs Laughlin and play the 50-plays there - with one line and single nickel. I've seen this happen repeatedly, and I find it frustrating because there are just three of those machines in that whole casino, and those are the only games in that casino that I like to play.

I'd really hate it if I traveled to the South Coast to play the 50-plays and couldn't because some idiot (e.g., me) was "wasting" the machine.

On a related note, I've been struggling with Bob Dancer's assertions that it's player against player -- not player against the casino. I had thought his comments related to things like contests and drawings, but in light of this, I'm beginning to gain a deeper level of understanding.

Apparently, if I go and hog a machine that has a game that I want to play and preclude others from really using the machine for its intended purpose, that's ok, as long as my selfish goals are being met. If I don't hog that machine, I'm simply being both too nice and a sucker. It's all becoming crystal clear. Personally, I find this to be mean-spirited, and I don't like it.

So, as a good community-member, here's where the machines are: if you're facing the main casino cashier, the bank is on the left, in between the bar and the corridor that leads from the front door to the cashier. There's at least one additional bank of machines between this bank and the cashier cage, and the bank that's behind it (that is, further in to the casino) has a bill breaker machine on the right end (facing the cashier). The machines have various denominations, but the 9/6 Jacks were only at the quarter level. The other denominations had short pay Jacks, and I didn't look at the other games.

The 8/5 Bonus at the quarter single line level was throughout the casino.

Stan, this was a really nice post. Thanks for the clarification. With such a large inventory of games, it's easy to make assumptions, especially when you'd expect that if they have 9/6 on multi-plays that they'd also have it on single line quarters.
