Longhorn has opened their slot club. Called Big Shot Player's Club. I
think it's .20 cashback or .25 comps. There are some grand opening
point specials.
I can verify this cashback/comp rate.
The point specials are for food. I think a grand total of
400 pts ($400 coin in) is all that is needed. It might be
a bit more, but not much. You get a free breakfast, a free
lunch and a free dinner. These can be used anytime. I ate
a lunch. It tasted OK and I did not get sick. The place
is a dive. The LVA coupon is the only reason I went in.
BTW. I also checked out the new Emerald Island. It had
a funky odor. You'd think they could have sprayed a few
hundred cans of Lysol or something. The VP was even
skankier than the aroma. All in all, it seems like the
new ownership is not very bright. They certainly are not
doing anything to make the new casino appeal to the
public. I simply see nothing of interest to anyone.
Oh yeah, I forgot. It does have an enclosed non-smoking
area. The machine selection seemed to be about like that
in the rest of the casino. I guess that counts as an effort.
The place was packed, but I think this was just because
the joint had only been open a day or so when I stopped
by. I almost did not find it. I was looking for this
green icon they supposedly had. I did see an odd structure
that might hold this emerald someday, but for now, it
is not operational. It is very near the Rainbow and El
Dorado, It is sort of behind them to the west, I think.
