Mirage VP

So that people don't get the wrong impression, I remember the $ JOB outside

High Limit (actually near the change booth outside High Limit) as 8-5 JOB
which means it doesn't get to break even until it gets to $8800. The only
thing worth playing is $ 8-5 BP or $5 or higher JOB.

Ted,

This is where I betray my amateurishness: I honestly don't remember. Don't
recall seeing any 9-6 JoB in the areas we were in; this progressive _might_
even have been 8-5 BP. (It seemed pretty good at the time, whatever it was.

Next time, I need to take notes on my daily play, since these trip reports are
all from recollection. The laptop was in use every single day, but for
different stuff than journalism. (For example, it's nice to punch up WinPoker
for an unfamiliar pay table... and we also had the DeLorme Street Atlas
program installed, so we could check the drive to a couple places before we
went. But we didn't connect to the outside world until our last casino, the
"V".)

What comp level were you at? Believe at room comp or higher, you can avoid

long lines at buffet by getting a line pass from your host.

This was, I guess, a standard three-day promotion (that "everyone" got).
Twice I tried to move up through the "comp" line at the buffet, and was
rebuffed -- they swiped my card through and said the $50 offer package credit
wasn't the same as a comp. (??)

Didn't think to approach a host in the casino before we tried to get in the
buffet -- which should have generated the necessary approvals, especially with
our play and my bum leg. (I can do a pretty good flamingo one-legged
impersonation these days.

As far as we were concerned, it was the casino's loss (that we would then go
outside the property, specifically to Sam Woo's for grub and then on to play
at other casinos, even though we were staying at the Mirage). They missed out
on perhaps six or eight hours' worth of gaming time we *might* have spent --
although, to be frank, if the Mirage gaming machine inventory has been
better, we would've come right back anyways. All the Mirage needed to do was
to not give us a reason to leave the property in the first place.
