Mirage

A question first: Does anyone know if you can earn points at other
hotels in the MGM-Mirage system and "save them up" for comps at the
Mirage? I'd love to stay but probably wouldn't want to play here.

Likes

Beautiful resort; Everyone Vegas visitor should walk through it at
least once; My wife loves dolphins and waterfalls so this is paradise
for her.

Dislikes

Most games too rich for my blood; No 100%+ games that I know of
unless you count cards -- even then I hear they've put in a bunch of
CSMs.

Don't waste your money on Siegfried and Roy -- they're okay but way
overpriced.

Anecdotes

When we go to the Mirage, we always park at TI and ride the monorail
over. This is so easy because the monorail boards at TI on the 3rd
level just off the parking garage. It takes you right to Mirage's
front door with very little walking.

Swimming pool comments

Beautiful; One of the top-rated pools in Vegas

My "home" casino is across the street from the
Mirage, i.e, Casino Royale. I played the multi-strike
machines at the Mirage last trip, just learning, no
info on the pay tables etc. but I do know a Royal on
the top line pays $32000!! I asked about my comps and
was told I had $33 cash back or $66 play credit, it
was a new promotion, so I took the $66 play credit. I
am no expert, but there is some I have played some at
MGM etc. Let me let you in in on the best kept parking
secret on the strip!!! Those of you that subsribe to
LVA probably know what I am about to tell you. Right
across the street from the escalator that goes to the
Mirage on the Sourth side and takes you past the White
Tiger exhibit there is a driveway between Harrah's and
Casino Royale. It leads to the parking lot and garage
for Casino Royale. A thirty second walk into Casino
Royale which has the best coupons for first time out
of state visitors in all of Vegas, ev of some $140!!
And the Mirage is right across the street! Last trip I
ate three comped meals at the new Outback Steak house
and looked out at the volcano.

My personal experience at the Casino Royale is that if you "win" using
their coupons, you soon find yourself OFF their mailing list.
Probably great for out-of-towners but no so good for locals.
