Mini Report - Barona Casino, San Diego

Nothing much new on the Barona scene except that there are still a few 9/6
triple play JOB 25c, $1 level (s) here and there on the floor. Some are in
that giant, maxi-machine size and as reported before the machine already
pre-holds the most obvious play for the given hand. Still be on alert that not all
their choices are correct.

They have relaxed their ban on liquor just a bit with liquor being served
poolside (you can not bring it out to the pool yourself). I believe you can
order it in your individual rooms as well. In terms of machines, I still saw
the Boom machines with the firecracker bonus at the 25c level (2 ) and only one
at the $dollar level.

Although the cashback is 0.1%, there is also some side account by which
patrons at certain levels get food comps, room and show invitations and VIP parking
...that sort of thing. I still recommend the property as a getaway
especially if you play golf.

Did you use the LVA free buffet coupons? If so, I'm curious as to how
that worked out.

Poker room (recently expanded) is pretty nice.
Pays $1/hour in comps.
Daily 'early' morning bonus of $20 for first 30 players, starting at
9 am sharp. You must be a 'seated' player by then, and play for 2
hours mininum. So arrive by 8:30 am or so to get the bonus.

They also have California-Style "Card Craps" now. Be patient though, their dealers are still being broken in!

I used the coupon and it worked great! I just went to the slot club
and got it validated in a couple of minutes then went to buffet.
There was no line at about 1:30PM on a weekday. I thought the buffet
was great for free but a little pricey compared to what you get in
Vegas. But I couldn't really knock anything in the buffet. It has
multiple stations with a big variety of stuff. There was nothing that
made me think I've got to come back just for this, but the desserts
came pretty close.

Jim,

Very cool. Now please tell me. Did you eat and leave or did you play?
Barona is reporting that the coupon users aren't playing.
