Million dollar video poker hit

You know, my first thought was that this probably wasn't legit, but then I thought "why would someone go through all the trouble to stage it?". I don't know anything about machine test modes so I guess it is possible to cause a royal flush to appear on the screen but why make it a $20 machine ( uncommon) and why play 79 coins ( uncommon)? It was one of those "Hard to believe so it must be true" stories.

Well, I will go back to Huck Seed's approximately $647,000 royal as the biggest hit I have heard.

In September of 2015 a lady playing a $5 10 play VP machine in the high limit room at Horseshoe Hammond was dealt a royal with a 4x multiplier for $800,000. Since then just about all vp tables in all denominations have been reduced.

Thanks for this heads-up about video poker downgrades at Horseshoe
Hammond, but no one has submitted a database update for this casino in
a long time. Here's what's there now:

If anyone has specific info about the games/denominations listed in
vpFREE2 that should be changed, you can post them here or submit them
on vpFREE2 by using the "Send Us an Update" tab. Or you can send them
to me privately and I will make sure they get done.

Any pictures available of that monster hit?

And I understand the casino not being happy about it but it's all part of the game. If a casino puts in a game and doesn't account for a huge hit being hit, they shouldn't have the game in their casino. A huge part of the attraction is the monster hit. They should have celebrated that hit, advertised the heck out of it and welcomed people to play. If they worry about the 10,000,000 to 1 shot happening, they are really in the wrong business.

With that in mind, I wonder if there is any insurance available against a huge hit? It seems you can insure just about anything for the right price.

Most of the big slot jackpots are paid by IGT. The other ones, like sequential royals or kiosk or drawing promotions or big Keno hits can be insured.

I doubt he was "staging" it, or using a test mode, he was probably
just playing on his buddy's machine for fun and happened to hit a
royal. If you're playing for fake money, why not play for BIG fake
money, right?

Cheers,

Five
