I certainly retract my earlier comment about going easy on him as we don't want to take gamblers like him out of the game -- when I was posting, I forgot that he had falsified his tax ID and was not just under-reporting / non-reporting, but was trying to cheat the govt. totally. I agree with those who indicated the IRS has little sympathy for intentional fraud and tax evasion, and expect he will receive a criminal conviction as well as a tax bill.
Sorry I wasn't thinking about the big picture in this specific case!
