Michael's Visit

Hi Gang:
Since some board members have questioned our handling of the "Michael's
incident" at South Point, I would like to clarify some things.
The main problem with the Michael's visit was that when the restaurant was
at the Barbary Coast it was ALWAYS included in the RFB there. We also thought
that we were told during its construction a few months or so ago that it WOULD
BE included in the hotel's RFB. (We believe our host told us that, but can't
confirm it ... she's away on vacation right now). Soooo, we kind of assumed,
which I know is always a mistake.
Anyway, the people we spoke to after the fact said that there was some
literature in our suite spelling out what was included in our RFB status. But we
searched and there wasn't ... which was part of the reason they decided to pick
up the cost of our meal. They also told us that since our bill was ONLY
$241, it wouldn't be a problem.
And, for those who said we should have known better since it is "privately
owned," it is named after Michael Gaughan, the owner of South Point and
previous owner of Coast properties, so it is not owned by a totally separate,
independent entity.

Hi Coach,

As far as I can discern, you owe no explanation of why you thought
that your meal at Michael's would be comped. It was a totally
understandable assumption on your part; one that most RFB
players might easily make.

As for those perfection-personified, nit-pickin' know-it-alls that
criticized your actions, I'd be willing to bet a chunk of my VP
bankroll, that they have made bigger errors in judgement at some
time during their playing careers.

What I'd like to know is, did you greatly ENJOY eating the
extravagant Chicken 'n Chops? If so, it would have been worthwhile
even if you had to pay cash money for the meal.

Best regards and good eatin'!

~Babe~

I was so intrigued by the $98 chicken breast that I went to the
SouthPoint website and viewed the menu for Michael's. The menu was
there, but unlike all of the menus for the other restauants in the
hotel, it did not include any prices. I think they need a disclaimer on
the menu that if you have to ask, you can't afford it. How do the
prices at the Southpoint Michael's compare to the Barbary Coast prices?
