I just checked out of an MGM property. I played 208K (all 8/5 BP VP) and my theo was $3008. That is an unbelievable 1.5%.
I knew my comps at MGM were going down but holy cow that is amazing. Based on these numbers, I was overcomped just by the room charge for the suite $500/nt plus the almost $700 FP. When adding my RFB room charges and (2) upfront show tickets, I was way overcomped and was told so by my host.
When I checked into my 2nd MGM property, my host told me to forget any comps above what was precomped. The only surprise here was that they split every food bill and egg in half (there were (4) of us) and charged us half of every bill. This had never happened to us at an MGM property.
Since every trip is rated separately, in the future we need to stay at only one MGM property during each visit. It seems that if you have a good host you can get overcomped on that first stay but if you check into a 2nd MGM property you're screwed and have to dig out of a negative hole before getting any additional comps.
Has anyone had a similar experience at MGM?
We by far seemed to get better comps from the Palazzo. They comped all food (for 4) and (4) tickets to Phanthom for a slightly higher level of play.
Does anyone know what the theo is at other Las Vegas properties and how it compares to MGM?
