MGM Grand

The 25c MG Game Maker Machines (green) uprights near the poker room
and the Sports Book that had 8/5 Bonus Poker are MIA. I don't know if
they relocated them to another area.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a hotel in Reno? I'm looking for nice size modern rooms, good VP with decent slot club, courteous staff and easy check-in. So far my options are Peppermill, Silver Legacy, Circus-Circus (suite only), Hilton and Atlantis. Any help will be appreciated.

Last weekend, the wife and I stayed at the Siena hotel and casino in
Reno. The hotel has a classy, Romantic Italian ambience and the
rooms are very comfortable with down comforter's and down pillows. I
strongly recommend the Siena for anyone bringing along non-gambling
female companionship. With the ample exercise facilities, nice spa,
and free wireless Internet, my wife was able to relax and enjoy
herself thoroughly while I went off gambling.
The casino is smaller and much less smoky than most in Reno, with
some good video poker plays. 10/7 DB at the quarter level is
available, plus the casino has a long-standing promotion on quads
that you can read more about in the database. The inventory of
machines isn't nearly as extensive, nor as easy to find positive
machines, as say the Peppermill. However, that place is so garrish
and smoky it is a bit unpleasant spending much time there. If you
view VP as a job, go to the Peppermill. Given the requirements you
outlined in your post, however, I'd say give the Siena a try.

Any idea on the level of play required to gain a room comp? Did you go in comped or paid? any idea how much a room goes for here?

I don't know what it takes to get a comped room there. This was my
first visit, and I paid. We stayed Fri and Sat and the room was
listed as $150/night on their own website, www.sienareno.com. It was
the same on travelocity and expedia. However, I stumbled across it
for $69/night on www.gotorenotahoe.com and grabbed it. When I
checked that site's rates for other hotels I was considering, their
rates were the same as everyone elses. So I don't know if they just
get a better deal for the Siena, or I just caught a lucky computer
glitch.
