Once again MGM delivers the product but disappoints the customer.
You are SO right about this!!! Thanks for your time in posting all the info
and results about MGM's latest screwed-up promotion. I'm still a bit hot
under the collar about them screwing me on $250 of earned freeplay during a
promotion a couple of years ago, and it cost them a ton of ploppy play because I
was so ticked off that I told many of my uneducated gambler friends how MGM
Detroit's promotions can be a smoke-and-mirrors deception.
One recent example was perhaps 3 or 4 months ago. Got a free buffet
postcard in the mail. Had a small amount of freeplay, figured I'd head there and
give 'em a shot at my bankroll. Apparently they'd sent out thousands of those
postcards, the buffet line snaked around the perimeter of the VP-only room
and well into the adjacent room with the nickel cartoon slots. Looked to me
like there were about as many people in line as the buffet seating would hold.
I gave up on that idea, went to use the freeplay, but it wouldn't load on
the 9/7 DB progressive machine I'd chosen. Stood in the long line for the
boothlings, they said that my password needed to be reset. OK, did that, but it
still wouldn't work. This time at the booth, a bus had just arrived and the
line was of staggering proportions. The end result was that I didn't get the
buffet OR the freeplay. Then, about 2 weeks later, I get a letter from
them. Sorry you didn't get your buffet, we screwed up, here's $10 of freeplay as
an apology. Gee, thanks.
