MGM and the Mandelay Bay

Just got back a week ago from Las Vegas weekend. I was on a LFB comp at the MGM which
was great as the restaurants there are really good in spite of there not being anything
really playable there. Whilst there I did play a five hand video poker game which I
liked. One can play from .5c to $1.00 and I played at .25c. It has a random multiplier that
on occasion appears as you are being dealt your first hand and multiplies from 2 to 10
whatever winning hands you end up with. I lucked in when I got dealt four kings after the
multiplier appeared showing a X3 for a win of $937.50. The game was nevertheless short
pay DDB paying 35 coins on a full house.

I went to the Mandelay Bay as I had never gone there before and couldn't find anything
playable there either though I really liked the space. I went to join the players club and
putted around playing the nickle cartoon machines that I enjoy playingl. I did very well at a
Cleopatra machine, pulling out several hundred dollars out of it. I put in a $20.00 bill in a
$1.00 Pick'em Poker which has the terrible $10,000.00 Royal paytable and amazingly
ended up staying at that machine for five hours on the same $20.00! When I cashed out I
had $800.00 having finally gotten my second four of a kind with myriad full
houses, straights and flushes and everything else in between. Out of curiosity I went back
to the players club to ask what my cashback was and was told $50.00 and that I also had
about $200.00 in comps if I wanted!
I asked how long the comps would stay in the account and was told that there was a
merger going on between Mandelay and MGM and that they would definitely be there for
at least six months and after that they weren't sure. As I'm going to go back in July I will
use them then but in the meantime I hope to receive offers from Mandelay as I quite like
the place. Any fellow canucks out there gotten anything from them?

I don't play at Mandalay Bay, but I do play at other casinos in that chain and I do receive mail from them. Five hours on $1 Pick-Em is a fair bit of play and I would certainly expect to receive some reasonable mail offers from them.
