Message "KONAMI Systems Initializing..." displayed while playing on IGT machine

Just wondering what it means when the message "KONAMI Systems Initializing..." is displayed while playing Video Keno on an IGT machine. Any restart or re-initialization (I thought) should be displaying the name of the machine's maker (IGT in this case). Why the name KONAMI came up on the tiny screen (not the main screen) which displays your Account Balance, Points Earned, etc. !?
The machine I am talking about is one of those Blue Multi-Game/Multi-Denom machines that has SLOTS, POKER, KENO games to choose from.

Has anyone seen this before?
If so, what does it mean?

Thanks.
Gilbert

We are here by the Kennedy Space Center and as far as we know the closest casino's are in Tampa & Hollywood Hard Rock Casinos ???

Do they have $5 blackjack and penny slots???

Which is the best to go to ???

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Hollywood has a nice selection of penny slots but $5.00 B/J is not common. During the day they may have one or two low denom tables with continuous shufflers.

Remember ..... life is only what you make it. Never settle for second best.

I've seen this - or similar messages - plenty of times before. KONAMI is probably the name of the players card (computer) system that the casino is using. It likely means that the system is rebooting, or perhaps the system is OK but that particular machine has lost contact with the main system.

Gilbert,

Konami also makes tracking software, it is #4 in the industry behind Bally, IGT Advantage and Aristocrat Oasis. There are very few installations and I've never seen the current version in practice. The message you are getting is something that can only confuse customers but you can probably safely ignore it. Where were you playing?

Bill,

Thanks for the info!
I was playing at Pauma Casino, one of the Indian casinos in the San Diego area. The message "KONAMI Systems Initializing..." came up during the early morning hours while the casino personnel were doing their round collecting money from the machines.

It must have been just a coincidence (got bothered by the message and I lost concentration) that after the message displayed, the machine started taking all my credits that I won earlier.

The bank of machines where I was playing have least 20 machines (all IGT Multi-Game, Multi-Denom).
