I was wondering, are there any other Mensa members of the VPFree groups?
Mensa?
Will, I'm not a member of Mensa, but I am a member of the other intellectual group: Densa. Dr. Sinsky.

And, this is relevant to VP for what reason?

I wouldn't know either. However, we could at least be assured that
anyone "outed" by the question isn't a member of casino management
who's snooping in on us ... <my usual half-assed grin>

I dunno. You might find a few in casino management. If you have to pay a
fee to become a member of Mensa, how smart could they be?

My question is relevant to this group. Mensa is not just a card in
your wallet, and a line on your resume.... Mensa has Special Interest
Groups (SIGs) that meet for intelligent discussions on shared
interests. There are over a hundred SIGs, but none related to VP. I
was thinking of pehaps starting one, maybe even an online SIG.
The quality of a discussion with other Mensans is head and shoulders
above a similar discussion with the hoi polloi.

GEE! I am really impressed.
But, I think that I will stay with the hoi polloi.
I guess that means I will be missing a lot, but, somehow, I will try
to bear up.

In my experience, "quality" might be considered a euphemism.

In light of the several comments so far rendered on this subject,
perhaps a more relevant question would have been: How many here are ex-
members of Mensa or opted not to join after "qualifying"?
<smile> Where is Marilyn vos Savant, when you really need her?
.... bl (a member of the hoi polloi who opted out)
Double Venetian Grazie points -Monday through Thursday the entire month of August.
MGMMirage Properties - (I believe all of them, but someone can confirm this) - Double Holiday points all of August. I think it is every day in August, but this needs confirmed.
I'm in an emergency mode at the moment. I may have a nervous breakdown yet!
My computer crashed while we were gone for two weeks. I had most stuff backed up, but I can't open my address book and I am really lost. For those of you with whom I correspond privately, please send me an e-mail so I can rebuild my address book. I had a couple hundred addresses in this book. This is the first time I have had a complete computer crash. I guess it is inevitable eventually!!! But a very nerve-wracking experience!!!!
Inevitable?
More like a biannual event.

Yes, I was one of those who opted not to join. After seeing these
comments I now remember why.

No, but we did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!

There is a Mensa gambling book published. It was pretty good, and even
had a rational discussion of Bingo, which was unusual. But it was
still a "beginners guide" in many ways, because it gave a broad brush
explanation of most casino games. Accurate, but not much depth.
There may not be many mensas on this site, but there are definitely
some math whizzes ... even a PHd or two I'm sure. There are probably
more mensa types playing regular poker ... maybe Raymer or Ferguson.

I'm a card carrying member of the hoi polloi. Being a mensa can be a
problem on this site. Which raises this possibility. Perhaps we need
an "index" of all the messages posted here over the past years, so the
mensa members can focus on the meaty posts that interest them. Even a
hoi polloi might benefit. Many topics get covered multiple times over
the years; it would save time if we consulted the index first, before
asking a question. Does Yahoo provide a way to index messages?
