NOW we're asking the right question, I think!

Well, I never joined-up. I took the ACT and SAT in back-to-back weekends in
April 1972. Not sure which came first. These tests can qualify you for
Mensa. Back then these tests were biased towards white boys living in the affluent
suburbs...which my description fit perfectly.

My composite ACT of 29 got me into the Big U and would have been good enough
for Mensa. My 90th percentile SAT would have done neither. But what should
have been the truer indication of future smarts...a four hour testing score or
my four year high school rank where I only beat out 3 out of 4 of my cohorts
in a class of 500?

Now my first-born posted a SAT a couple years ago that crushed my score and
would have qualified him into Mensa. I didn't bring it up.
