meal comps?

I am heading to LV tomorrow for my first try at playing vp. I have
searched through the VPfree database for full-pay machines, so I plan
on trying the Golden Nugget, Fiesta Rancho, and Orleans. If I am
playing .25 vp and looking mainly for food comps and maybe room
discounts or room comps, are these the best places to go? I am
staying on the strip but will have a car, so I can try most any
LV-area casino.

TIA

You've supplied insufficient data for a very subjective
question.

How much coin-in are you planning on playing per day,
for how many days? What are your ambience requirements?
Why do you want room comps if you're staying on the strip?
What game(s) do you prefer to play? Are you looking for future
offers? etc., etc., etc..

As a 25c player on positive machines, with no history
of play, you can only count on the cashback and/or
earned comps listed in the DataBase.

Discretionary comps would depend on your coin-in or
theoretical loss stats and should be discussed with a host.
There are guidelines on some of the casino DataBase
pages.

I'd suggest you try Downtown. My favourite is Main Street Station, they are pretty good with comps and mailed offers.
